Halcyon Plants have Iris Plants available for Sale Online. Tall bearded Iris’s thrive in medium or poor soils like the ropey bit by the walls of the house where the builders’ rubble was squirrelled away. Iris plants are not invasive (the tall bearded ones that is…) and have super flowers.
Tall bearded Iris generally prefer well drained, even dry soil in full sun. Make sure they have plenty of air around them, as they don’t like humid conditions.
The Iris ensata (of the Laevigatae group) generally prefer moist or even wet conditions, often doing well as pond or stream marginals. The leaves are much more rush-like, and don’t have the grey hue of the bearded Iris.
