Ceanothus griseus ‘Yankee Point’, or ‘Carmel Ceanothus’ has a medium height and spreading habit. ‘Yankee Point’ has glossy dark green leaves and bright blue flowers which appear in late spring and early summer. Suited to a shrub border but can be trained against a wall.
Grow ceanothus in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun with shelter from cold, drying winds. Will tolerate lime soils, but will become chlorotic on shallow chalky soils.
Some Ceanothus, including Yankee Point carry a light honey scent that can be caught on a still day.
