Philadelphus ‘Virginal’ ia a vigorous, upright deciduous shrub with double, very fragrant, pure white flowers which appear in early/midsummer. More suitable for back of border or stand-alone specimen. Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in sun/partial shade.
The picture is actually ‘Manteau D’Hermine’, which is a similar but not quite so cupped flower as ‘Virginal’. I’ll put the right photo on as soon as one flowers!
