Sisyrinchium californicum is a semi-evergreen perennial, frost hardy, and suitable for rock-garden or gravel planting. Although, having said that, this plant will thrive in pond marginal areas, and does not mind having its feet in water.
Has linear grey-green leaves and upright stems of bright yellow flowers which appear from early summer. Plant in poor to moderately fertile, neutral to slightly alkaline soil in full sun.
Divide every couple of years to get new plants.
